Governance Research Center AI

Privacy

This site collects as little data as possible, and only to answer you or to give you access to the chat.

Data controller

José Escobar, publisher of the site. For any question about your data: contact@governanceresearchcenter.org or the contact form.

Browsing the site

No account, no cookie, no audience measurement, no advertising. Searching the articles happens in your browser: your searches are sent nowhere.

As for any website, the host (Scaleway, in France) processes technical data, including your IP address, to deliver the pages and keep them secure.

Contact form

Your name, email address and message are emailed to the contact address so that we can answer you. They are not kept on the site; they stay in the author's mailbox for the time of the exchange. The contact address's mailbox is hosted by Apple (iCloud).

Requesting access to the chat

When you request access, we keep your name, email address, institution, profile, motivation, language, and the dates of the request and of the decision. They are used to review your request and manage your access, with your consent, given in the form. The site's administrators are told of each request by email.

They are kept as long as your account exists. On request, we delete your account: its data is then erased within 30 days, backups included.

Signing in and the chat

You sign in with a link sent by email, with no password. A strictly necessary cookie keeps you signed in on your device: it expires after 14 days without a visit, and after 90 days at most.

Your questions are sent to Scaleway's artificial intelligence models, hosted in France; according to Scaleway, they are neither kept nor used to train these models. The site keeps neither your questions nor the answers: the conversation stays in your page and disappears when you close it. We only count the number of questions per day and their cost, linked to a pseudonymous identifier of your account. If you ask for a complement from external sources, the site sends a few keywords drawn from your question to Wikipedia (Wikimedia Foundation) and OpenAlex (OurResearch), with no information about you.

Service providers

Scaleway (hosting, artificial intelligence, the site's emails), in France; Apple (the contact address's mailbox), which may process data outside the European Union. Your data is neither sold nor used for advertising.

Your rights

You may access your data, have it corrected or erased, object to its processing or ask for its restriction and portability, and withdraw your consent at any time, by writing to the contact address. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (www.cnil.fr).
